Case study: National Exhibition Centre/LG Arena Birmingham

We had two jobs to do through a main contractor.
Both were new restaurants on the concourse of the NEC one being a smaller Subway with seating area and the Eastern oven was more of a sit down restaurant providing three types of eastern cuisine.

Eastern Oven

Specialists in toasted and cold submarine sandwiches and salads, Subway also offers a delicious range of deli-style sandwiches, kids meals, salads and wraps. If you want a healthier option try their popular ‘under 6’ range – a low fat selection of sandwiches with under 6 grams of fat each. Freshly baked cookies and muffins are also available.

Case study: Twycross Zoo, Warwickshire

We were selected to help conceive a new way to light the Elephant house at the zoo using modern light fittings and controls in order to mimic the natural sunrise and sunset scenario.
This is a new requirement for the safe upkeep and health of the Elephant.
We used a computer program and PLC controls rather than the traditional methods usually adopted this gives the Zoo a more reliable and adaptable control over the system as and when required.

Case study: Subway

We started our first Subway in the middle of 2010 and have done many refits around the country.
We started off on our first one at the Merry Hill Westfield shopping centre near Dudley, then at the NEC in Birmingham and from there started travelling to places like Essex, Somerset and Newcastle.

They include much the same as Greggs i.e Lighting, Power, fire alarms and data installations.
They are kept to a strict Schedule to be ready in time for opening.

Case study: Greggs

This was our first Greggs store, starting off in Headington, Oxford.
Once completed we are starting our Second and these started in November 2010.
They include lighting, Data cabling, Fire alarms and power supplies to all cooking and refrigeration equipment.

Case study: Ladbrook Park Golf Club

Ladbrook Park Golf Club was founded in 1908 and has developed into one of the foremost golf clubs in the West Midlands. It is renowned for the hospitality and warm welcome offered to visitors, societies and corporate customers by both members and clubhouse staff.

Ladbrook Park was Kind enough to give AGW the chance to prove itself when they had an inspection done and several things were picked up to require attention.
We quoted for the works resulting from these results and placed engineers onsite to change Fuseboards and some switch gear and re-test.

We thank Ladbrook park for their hospitality and hope that we can develop a lasting relationship.

Case study: Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy

The Ormiston Trust has a specific commitment to the development of the
Extended School whereby, using the resources of the Academy and also the
community, there will be programmes and activities provided for students, their
families and the wider community which support community cohesion, learning
and enjoyment.

We were delighted to be chosen for maintenance work at this highly committed modern thinking School in our local area.
The work starting off our recent working relationship was making sure that light fittings in the Gym were safe to use after faulty one’s were detected and causing nuisance tripping in the fuse board.
Also replacing old light fittings in the School offices.
Hopefully the start of a good working relationship between this Academy and AGW Electrical (Services) Ltd.

Case study: Shirelands Collegiate academy

Shirelands Collegiate Academy
Shireland Collegiate Academy is a secondary school in the English academy programme, located in Smethwick, West Midlands, England. Was built during the early 20th century. Originally called Shireland Hall and later Shireland Modern, the school was renamed Shireland Collegiate Academy in the 1990s.

We are very grateful to be given the chance to work with a new School in the Smethwick area, working closely with the Site managers AGW have been commissioned to put right all the faults that have been picked up during their periodic Inspection and Test.
Over the two week easter holidays we are going to be putting right 38 small installations.

Case study: Oldbury College of Sport

We provided the Electrics, Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, emergency Lighting, Heating controls, TV Aerial system with Surround sound on the audio visual package and data points for this new Computer/Social room which has been converted from a gymnasium.
Done over one of the School holidays and completed on time.

Case study: Premier Inn

Through a main contractor we won contracts to fit Electrical Power supplies to every single room in three of the Chains hotels.
more or less running at the same time we managed to do the work on time and exactly to spec, these were in Southampton Central, Southampton Airport and London Putney Bridge. This work was worth over £140’000.00 to AGW Electrical.

Case study: West Midlands Police

We are proud for the fact that we do a lot of maintenance and project work for West Midlands Police.
We work all accross the Midlands doing small maintenance work up to tendering for large projects.
We have kept up this relationship for the past ten years.

July 2010: We have been trusted with rewiring work on two floors at Bloxwich Police Station which is two-three weeks worth of work.

2010, Through a main Client, we are delighted to be given the chance to work here restoring retail units to a rentable condition and performing electrical tests.

Case study: George Salter Collegiate Acadamy, West Bromwich

During the School holidays October 09 AGW Electrical (Services) Ltd completed a lighting overhaul replacing the Schools old light fittings in 18 classrooms. 72 light fittings in total were changed over a four day period.

Second to that, during the School Holidays of February ’10 we were comissioned to add in over 30 Emergency lighting fittings and update the Fire Alarm system to comply to an L2 survey that was carried out.

Case study: University College Birmingham

In the Centre of Birmingham the University College Birmingham is one of our more regular clients.
For one day each week we have an engineer onsite doing routine electrical maintenance and Testing.

Case study: The Music King, Halesowen

After 3 years of mail order only sales The Music King have taken the massive leap to bring MUSIC KING to the high street!

So it’s all now under one roof. Well worth taking a look.

AGW carried out the installations of Lighting and Power exactly to the customers needs, and on time to allow the store to open on the day and time the manager wanted.

Case study: The White House, Dudley

The White House on Priory Road in Dudley was originally one large Grade II-listed property owned entirely by the Dudley Conservative Club.

The Conservative Club sold the front part of the property, including the ballroom, and refurbished the rear to become the new club premises. The building was split into two and tastefully refurbished to its current state.

AGW carried out the design and installation of the electricals and produced Auto-CAD (automatic computer-aided design) drawings for approval by the regulatory body Building Control.

Case study: Alpha Manufacturing

Alpha Manufacturing, a member of the Bri-Stor Group, is a privately owned business that designs and produces sheet metalwork components and assemblies for customers in industries that range from automotive to construction.

When Alpha Manufacturing decided to move to new premises about five miles away, they commissioned AGW to carry out the design and installation of the mains distribution system throughout their factories.
To ensure continued production, it was critical that deadline dates were adhered to – and new machines were installed and ready to go when needed.

We’re pleased to say that we achieved this challenge, with time to spare. As a result of this success, Bri-Stor used our electrical services during the complete refurbishment of its head offices.

Case study: The Hadley Group

Head office
The Hadley Group is a privately owned, multi-million pound company employing around 450 people. It is the largest UK-owned producer of cold rolled sections and allied products.
When the company refurbished its head office in the West Midlands, it commissioned AGW to undertake the design and installation of the electrical services. As we drew up the design, we created exact installation layouts for our employees to work from.

The electrical installations included small power (plug sockets and so on), fire alarms, lighting and data/telephone applications. The lighting incorporated intelligent sensors to automatically set the light levels, according to the natural light in the room and the occupancy of the areas.

Factory
AGW was also asked to completely rewire the 36,000 sq. ft. factory for The Hadley Group’s Roll Form Sections division.

Our brief was to renew all of the wiring and containment in the factory, including a 500KVA 11000/415 transformer and housing.

From start to finish, the project took us ten weeks and was completed on time and on budget.
